John Doe: Rogue Prosecutors, Speech Police and Winning!

In the fall of 2013, The Wall Street Journal broke the story of the pre-dawn raids of Wisconsin citizens who had dared to exercise their First Amendment rights.  Many faced criminal charges for speaking out on issues.

The Wall  Street Journal broke the real story, running dozens of editorials and columns exposing an extraordinary orchestrated attack on political participation and explaining why, no matter which party we prefer, the aggressive use of the criminal law should not become the “new normal” in our political battles. Please join us as Paul Gigot, editorial page editor, explains why a New York-based newspaper exposed an attack on free speech in middle America. He will tell you why it was so important to fight back.

As the Journal broke the story of the Doe, the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty entered the fray as well. Although freedom prevailed and the Doe investigation was shut down, threats to our freedom of speech and other liberties continue. With your help, WILL will lead the fight. As we contemplate what lies ahead,  Mr. Gigot will take questions from the audience after his remarks.

At WILL, we fight for freedom every day. We are excited to bring Paul Gigot to Milwaukee and would be honored to have you join us. At WILL, we fight for freedom every day. Join us in that fight on September 18.
